SHE Wears: Cat Eye Sunglasses

Welcome to the launch of our new periodic series SHE Wears; it's a veritable What We Wore, but with one distinct difference: in every SHE Wears installment we'll both be sharing outfits inspired by one singular piece shared betwixt. In our inaugural SHE Wears post we both styled a pair of cat-eye sunglasses by Rampage, which were found at TJ Maxx for just $8. We’re loving the cat-eye look this spring and these sunnies are just perfect. Take a look at how we both styled them and check out the fabulous cat-eyes we found online for you!

When I received these cat eye sunglasses in the mail from my dearest Casee I literally ran to the closest mirror in my apartment while grinning and jumping around and placed them on my face. I smiled at myself in the mirror exclaiming how amazing they looked on! My husband walked into the room and gave me a little smile saying he should've captured my reaction on video (he loves when I get super excited about things even when he doesn't completely understand why).
I'm thrilled that the cat eye sunglasses have made a come back! I love the femininty of the shape and I can't help but feel glamorous while I'm wearing them. These sunnies make a bold statement which results in many turned heads (I'm just being honest ladies!). It's fun to see the different shapes and sizes the cat eye sunnies come in. These are definitely the larger and more rounded pair but you can also find some smaller styles with more of a point creating a very dramatic look.
Sunnies like these have the power to complete any look even your t-shirt and jeans day! If you're not sure about them I would encourage you to try a pair on as they seem to work on all face shapes.

Being a particular fan of fashion trends during the 1950s and 1960s I'm quite an admirer of cat eye frames and when it comes to sunnies these are definitely a new favorite pair. I love how the shape is a blend of the classic cat eye of the '50s and the oversized look characterized in later decades. The day I took these shots was the first day we were graced with any sunshine after quite a bit of rain and even a little snow, so I was more than ready to embrace spring. I nabbed this pink trench by Missoni off of a clearance rack at Target early last summer and haven't had many opportunities to wear it; pairing it with my little CL by Laundry pumps I thought it would emulate a bit of 1950s flair that the sunglasses would perfectly pick up on.
