Come and Knock on Our Door

One look out my window at the melting snow and bright sunshine had me scurrying to grab my sunnies and wedges and camera before heading out to my patio for my very first legitimate attempt at self-timer outfit pictures! It's spring! Well, almost. It doesn't really look like spring but Mother Nature's working on that, right? All we need are the leaves and flowers...and grass and birds. But it's coming!

Jeans: ELLE
Top: Favé
Belt: Daisy Fuentes
Wedges: Bandolino
Earrings: Daisy Fuentes
Bracelet: Apt 9
Lipstick: OPI

I call this Favé top my Mrs. Roper shirt because it reminds me of the flouncy, vibrant muumuus Helen Roper used to wear on Three's Company. I was afraid it would be a little too flouncy with the wide-leg trousers so I belted it. I don't typically feel "right" when I belt things, I never think they give me quite the right shape but this was actually comfortable. The fashion trends of the seventies have never interested me much but somehow this year I'm loving the idea of stepping outside my typical looks and trying something new. The jeans I'm wearing are possibly the widest legs that I own, but the loose top sort of downplays that. I like the option of being able to wear them this way or with a fitted top for a more retro look. And the necklace I'm wearing is one that I got many years ago at a little jewelry bazaar in Florida when I was visiting my grandparents. I think my sister picked it out but after we got home she decided it was a little too much for her so she handed it down to me. Ha! In all the years its been in my closet I haven't worn it much, but when I do I get so many compliments on it. I think the wooden beads work well with the seventies vibe.

What do you think of the seventies trend that's popular for spring? Will you be trying it out or have you been rocking it already?
