Beauty Box 5: Holiday Inspired Makeup Look

(Photos taken from my Instagram)

I received the December Beauty Box 5 box just a few days ago and inside were multiple products to help with dryness, which is quite perfect for this month! If you don't know, Beauty Box 5 delivers 5 deluxe cosmetic samples to your door for $12 a month or $30 for a quarterly subscription! There are many different parties and events to attend at this time of year so I decided to create a Holiday inspired makeup look using the lipgloss by Ofra which was one of the items in the box.

EYES
After you've applied your basic everyday makeup these are the eye and lip products you'll want to use to achieve this look. I always prime my eyes with Urban Decay's Primer Potion (I use the "original" shade). This will help to ensure your eye makeup stays put! You can choose whether or not to use a light shadow as a base before applying the Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal Gel Shadow in the shade Silver Strike on your lids. I have a couple of these metallic shadows and let me tell you, this stuff doesn't budge! Next, you'll want to use a long lasting black liner. My new favorite that I am absolutely obsessed with is the Infallible Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner by L'Oreal. And to finish the eyes off you'll need some mascara, but don't forget to curl them first! I love Maybelline's Falsies.

LIPS
If your lips are feeling a bit chapped prior to adding the lip product use a little chap stick or lip scrub to properly prep them. For this look I used a Clinique lipstick in the shade All Heart. It's long lasting and feels great on! Last but definitely not least, I used my Ofra lipgloss in the shade Sultry. This helped to darken up the lips and make them a lovely deep red color. I'm used to wearing light or bright lip colors but I think this darker lip combo worked great on my fair complexion. It makes me wonder what an even darker shade would look like on? I also think this look is totally wearable for other occasions besides the holidays, especially if you like to feel a little glammed up! What do you think?

I'll end this post with a special sneak peak of one of the items that will arrive in the January box! The box will be focused on the idea of making and keeping beauty resolutions! This would be a great way to start off the new year and it would also be an exciting gift to give your friend or family member for Christmas! You can sign up here to order one for yourself or a loved one.
