Maybelline Color Elixir Review

(Instagram photo)
I've been keeping an eye out for the new Maybelline Color Elixirs at my local ULTA store and after the third trip there, they finally had them! I wanted to get at least a couple but I told myself to choose just one. They've received nothing but positive reviews but I wanted to make sure that I loved the product. I chose the brightest Barbie pink shade, Hibiscus Haven. The color itself is a slightly muted color of what it looks like in the bottle (I've read most of them are). Speaking of which, how lovely is the packaging? It reminds me of something that would come from the Christian Dior cosmetics line. It's so pretty and I love the square shape. The applicator is unique, but it works and the consistency is great. It's thick, almost buttery feeling, but not sticky. I love the liquid shine! One of the great features of this product is that it's long lasting. I put it to the test against an egg and toast lunch, and several drinks of water at the gym. While the shine did wear away the color was still in tact looking somewhat like a lip stain. I say some color is better than no color! I think it's definitely worth trying out yourself. There are several different shades to choose from, they have everything from the lightest nude color to a dark vampy purple. The only thing I don't really like is the price ($7.99). I feel like for such a small bottle is should be about $2 less.

Have you tried these out yet? If so, what do you think? Which colors do you have or want?
