Fashion Finds: Fair Isle Prints

"Fair Isle is a traditional knitting technique used to create patterns with multiple colours. Fair Isle knitting gained a considerable popularity when the Prince of Wales (later to become Edward VIII) wore Fair Isle tank tops in public in 1921. Traditional Fair Isle patterns have a limited palette of five or so colours, use only two colours per row, are worked in the round, and limit the length of a run of any particular colour."

The Fair Isle print was a new discovery for me this season. Although I have yet to try it I've seen some pieces online that definitely inspired a sudden urge to give it a chance. There's a fun holiday yet vintage feel to this print and even if it doesn't work for me it's bound to work for some people. What do you think of this print? Fair Isle could very well be your new obsession but you won't know until you try it.
