With Love from Talbots

You may be well aware that we at SHE are big fans of Talbots, and you may also be aware of the generosity Talbots showed us over the holidays when they gifted us each with an accessory of our choosing! Remember Jen's beautiful cashmere scarf? Well, it's about time I showed off the ultra-fabulous bling I picked out - and I think it's also time I gave you all a little peak at how I apply my style to the clothes I wear! Bring your sense of humor, ladies. This is, essentially, one of my earliest attempts at an outfit post.

I chose this exquisite dinner ring, which I do believe is no longer available on Talbots.com (keep an eye out, though, and maybe it will make a return appearance!). I worried that it wouldn't fit as I don't have very good luck with ring sizes. It fits me perfectly and I really can't get over the sparkly. It's a showstopper and no mistake. I rarely wear any other jewelry with it because it outshines all the other pieces I own. Ha!

I took this outfit post as an opportunity to try out a new old camel coat I recently acquired. Translation: I snagged it from my mom, who got it as a hand-me-down from her sister. It's all in the family. Don't you love hand-me-downs? I especially love it when they come from different generations. You can always find styles that have managed to come back into vogue. This one is a bit big both in style and size to suit me, but the price was certainly right! It's appropriate for women who wear suits underneath, that sort of thing. I'm very excited to play with styling it. Also, please pardon the giant wrinkle in it - this was its first venture out of the closet and I went just as far as the back yard for these pictures. The bag, coincidentally, is also a hand-me-down from my sister. I adore the style. It's one she used a lot when we were children; my mom would take crossbody bags and knot the strap to make it shorter so we could wear them as shoulder bags. I know, I know, she's a brilliant lady.

Another knew addition to my wardrobe are these darling leopard flats I snatched up recently for a steal on an online sample sale website. They were just the sort of leopard shoe I've been scouring the internet for. I'm not a big fan of the very yellow leopard print that can be seen a lot, so these were perfect with their soft golden tone and rich brown spots. And they're the perfect little pop of animal print that makes me feel just adventurous enough!

The full rundown on my outfit:

Tell me about your favorite bling, and the best hand-me-downs you've ever received. I just scored two lovely skirts that my mom was going to get rid of as well. Maybe I'll give another outfit post a try when I next wear one of them!
