Happy Birthday, Jen!

We interrupt this fashion blog for a very special birthday wish. Today our own Jen is celebrating her 25th birthday! Last winter when Jen, a dear friend and the girl who inspired my interest in web and graphic design, approached me with the prospect of writing for her new fashion blog, SHE - Style through Her Eyes, I could not have foreseen the amazing ways it would change both our lives and our friendship. We've grown so much closer in our efforts to make SHE a place for women to find empowerment, confidence and absolute fabulosity online. There have been hours-long discussions, both serious and silly, on subjects from what's happening on the catwalk to that huge crush we had on Orlando Bloom once upon a time. Jen has become my quintessential girlfriend and SHE is the tea and macarons that we chitchat over. (If we really could chitchat over tea and macarons I'm sure we'd do that, too.)

One of the many things I appreciate about SHE is the way it has served to introduce a mass of readers to Jen's resplendent personality. I don't need to tell you all what a phenomenal girl she is! If it isn't enough to read her charming posts and see her smiling face in pictures, the fact that everything SHE has become started from a seed of thought that Jen herself planted should illuminate the kind of strength and determination she possesses. She's a fabulous role model and a truly inspiring young woman; and it makes me so happy to share a dream with her and to be part of helping to make that dream come true.

So here's to Jen on her birthday - and I hope you'll all join Karen and myself in wishing her the very best on her 25th! Jen, thank you for all that you've done and continue to do for the sake of bringing SHE to glamorous life and for giving us all a place to love, laugh and revel in our unabashed femininity! I truly hope you have a wonderful day filled with all the joy you bring to the world. You're the sort of girl who makes life a little more magical simply by living it.  Have a day that's as beautiful as you are. I can't wait to see what glorious and delightful new things 2011 brings us!
