Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2011

Creative Director Christopher Bailey has outdone himself with the Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2011 collection. To work the revered history of a design house like Burberry into the modern world of fashion cannot be an easy task, but he knows just how to maintain the name's sophistication while simultaneously revolutionizing its designs. Take a look at some of my favorites from the collection...








I love so much about these looks. The outerwear molds the classic Burberry trench into something new and unstoppably chic. The color palette is also divine; I love the deep olive pantsuit, especially. Lots of sashes and thick belts give the modern designs the illusion of a classic silhouette, but the use of unexpected elements like maxi-length dresses give the collection such a punch of character. I also love how he worked the infamous Burberry check pattern into the oversize bag with a fun pop of orange detailing. What do you think of the collection?
